St. Johns County Army veteran Paul Bass, 90, and his wife, Dolores, were living under a damaged roof in Flagler Estates without the means to fix it themselves. But with the help of local volunteers and businesses, the Bass family won t have to worry about paying for it. The Veterans Council of St. Johns County, a nonprofit, heard about Bass situation and connected him with help. Matthew Reiter, who owns Reiter Roofing with his wife, Brittani, is donating labor to fix the roof. 1st Coast Metal Roofing Supply has donated materials, Reiter said.
