FARGO The Fargo Water Reclamation Facility asked residents to ensure their sump pump lines are properly connected for the spring season.
From March 31 to Oct. 1, residential sump pumps should drain into the city s storm sewer system, the facility said. Sump pump connections should be directly to a main storm sewer line, directly on the ground 20 or more feet from a house or through a buried line to the curb.
Keeping a sump pump connected to the sanitary system between March 31 and Oct. 1 can quickly overload the sanitary sewer system, the facility added. This can result in back-ups and lead to the discharge of raw sewage into the storm water system. ....
