Papua akan jadi lokasi proyek pengembangan pangan skala besar (food estate) dengan alokasi lahan sekitar 2.684.680,68 juta hektar. Sekitar
2.684.461,54 hektar ada di kawasan hutan. Sekitar
1,4 Juta hektar ada di areal hutan produksi dapat dikonversi, 560.000 hektar di kawasan hutan produksi terbatas, 360.000 hektar di hutan porduksi, 243.000 hektar di hutan lindung. Ada 190 hektar belum diketahui status kawasannya.

Walhi menolak dan mengingatkan proyek ini rawan meminggirkan masyarakat adat Papua, membuka hutan skala luas, dan mengancam keragaman hayati serta hanya menguntungkan segelintir elit korporasi.
