Only a week later halfway through what was supposed to be a foster-dog fortnight we adopted Candy from the Regina Humane Society.
Candy’s return to the animal shelter for the transfer of ownership was more like a reunion. Various staffers cooed over a genial growler who had arrived April 8, having been rescued from a situation that was “less than ideal,” according to RHS lifesaving co-ordinator Candace Davis. ....

The 33rd Annual Regina Humane Society Telethon set to air March 14 on AccessNow TV

“The past year has been a challenge for our fundraising efforts,” says Deanne Guest, Director of Development at the RHS. “With many of our events cancelled, the success of the Telethon has become even more important to our ability to help animals”.
Your support of the Telethon will allow the RHS to continue to save the lives of thousands of homeless, lost and abused animals in our community and give them a second chance at a happy, healthy life. One-time or monthly donations in any amount make a huge difference in the lives of animals in need.

Regina Humane Society welcomes donations of unwanted vehicles

Residents looking to get rid of vehicles or boats which no longer function or still run may be interested in donating them to the Regina Humane Society (RHS).
The process is ran on behalf of the humane society by Donate a Car Canada where people can donate vehicles to be sold for either scrap or at auctions. The money generated from these sales then goes to support the Regina Humane Society.
“It varies from year to year, but the average donation we have received is about $200,” explained Bill Thorn, director of marketing and public relations with RHS. “It depends on the vehicle and what kind of revenue Donate a Car Canada can generate from that.” ....

Kevin the Cat finds forever home over the holidays

A truly inspiring home-for-the-holidays story took place last week when Kevin the Cat got adopted from the Regina Humane Society.
Kevin was abandoned near a highway in a dog crate with only dog kibble to eat. When he eventually made it to the Humane Society, he was treated for frostbite on his ears and tail. Kevin also had to deal with severe fur-matting that needed surgery to resolve
Kevin’s new owner Mason Gardiner says he’s always wanted a rescue cat.
“The moment I saw the Regina Humane Society post about Kevin, the first time I saw with Kevin, I was like ‘oh, I like that cat, I want that cat,” Gardiner said. “Then I read his backstory, and it became a ‘I need that cat, I really resonate with that cat.” ....
