Negros gov t workers to study environment, green technology

BACOLOD CITY - The province of Negros Occidental is providing scholarships for 25 government employees, including teachers and other professionals, who will enroll in the Diploma in Environment and Green Technology Education (DEGTE). The program is being offered as a collaboration between the provincial government and the Philippine Normal University (PNU) Visayas based in Cadiz City in northern Negros. Karen Dinsay, head of the Negros Occidental Scholarship Program, said in an interview on Saturday afternoon the course is intended for environment work practitioners. "This a new scholarship program, a pioneering offering under the administration of Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson. We aim to help enhance their knowledge of green technology. We encourage those qualified to enroll," she added.
