Italy, UK embassies & Unesco Office hold beach cleanup

Officials from the embassies of the UK and Italy as well as the Unesco Office for the GCC Countries and Yemen, and the Doha Environmental Actions Project at a beach cleanup event at the Unesco World Heritage Site of Al Zubarah, yesterday.

Doha: The Embassy of Italy, the Embassy of the United Kingdom, and the Unesco Office for the GCC Countries and Yemen, in collaboration with the Doha Environmental Actions Project (DEAP), organised a beach cleanup at the Unesco World Heritage Site of Al Zubarah yesterday.
This was a joint effort to help preserve Qatar’s natural resources and rich heritage, in the framework of the #KeepQatarClean campaign launched by H E Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad Al Thani, and also a way to raise awareness of the serious damage caused by plastic pollution and littering to the environment and wildlife. ....

Doha: The World Innovation Summit for Education has (WISE) unveiled a photography series – Using the Used: A Reflection Of The Future Of Our City – at the Msheireb Metro Station in Doha, giving commuters the unique opportunity to learn about sustainability through the lens of youth in Qatar. 
Created through a collaboration between the World Innovation Summit for Education (WISE) – an initiative of Qatar Foundation (QF) – Qatar Rail, Photo Art Qatar (PA.Qatar), and QF partner university Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts in Qatar (VCUarts Qatar), the project aims to encourage young people to explore sustainability using creative mediums, specifically photography, that can translate into public spaces as forums of civic participation. ....
