One town in Cornwall has been given £80,000 to hold a series of events and festivals over the next three years. Redruth is the only High Street Heritage Action Zone in Cornwall to be given a grant from Historic England. Using the money the Redruth Cultural Consortium is launching Redruth Unlimited – a programme of cultural commissions designed to support already established festivals and events, be more inventive in how it uses spaces and venues in the town, and celebrate the town’s heritage and creativity. The aim is to also support local businesses and entrepreneurs, develop the evening economy and encourage more people to explore and enjoy Redruth.
