Peter Zinovieff, composer and synthesizer innovator, dies at 88

.- Peter Zinovieff, a composer and inventor whose pioneering synthesizers shaped albums by Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Roxy Music and Kraftwerk, died on June 23 in Cambridge, England. He was 88.
His death was announced on Twitter by his daughter Sofka Zinovieff, who said he had been hospitalized after a fall.
Zinovieff oversaw the design of the first commercially produced British synthesizers. In 1969, his company, EMS (Electronic Music Studios), introduced the VCS3 (for voltage controlled studio), one of the earliest and most affordable portable synthesizers. Instruments from EMS soon became a staple of 1970s progressive-rock, particularly from Britain and Germany. The companys slogan was Think of a sound now make it.

Balasore (Odisha) [India], July 3 (ANI): Odishan Institute of Maritime and South-East Asian Studies (OIMSEAS), in their recent archaeological survey, found traces of fortified early historic sites and artefacts near the Balasore district of Odisha.
On finding the traces of cultural evolution in Durgadevi and Ranasahi from 2000 B.C. to 100 B.C. representing 2000 years, the OIMSEAS sought permissions from the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) for excavation.
Durgadevi, located 20 km from Balasore has been named after its presiding deity of the locality The site had a circular mud fortification of about 4.9 km in circumference, and in between the river Sona on the south and the Burahabalang on its north-eastern margin.
