(Red Bird Media) The State Medical Examiner’s Office released the autopsy results Wednesday on a man whose body was recovered Monday from the Cornelia Water Reservoir. Divers found the body of Mark Anthony Hicks, 50, three days after his capsized boat was found near the reservoir dam. According to Habersham County Coroner Kasey McEntire, “Results from the autopsy conclude that Mr. Hicks died as a result of accidental drowning.”

Now Habersham Search continues for missing tuber on Lake Tugalo (Red Bird Media) Search and Rescue crews are back at Lake Tugalo in Rabun County today searching for the body of a man believed drowned in a boating accident on Saturday. The man apparently died after he fell off an intertube being pulled by a bass boat. “The tuber was not wearing a life jacket,” says Georgia Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division spokesperson Mark McKinnon. “The operator of the boat turned around to pick him up and possibly ran over him in the water.” Officials have not released the victim’s name.

(photo courtesy Red Bird Media) The Georgia Department of Natural Resources has identified the woman who died Thursday afternoon in a fall at Tallulah Gorge State Park as 58-year-old Nancy Moore Smith, of Blue Ridge. According to eyewitnesses, Smith had crossed over the railing at Overlook 2 and was talking with a Park Ranger when she jumped. Emergency crews were called to the scene shortly after noon.
