KENT The private school that rented its facilities to a weight-loss camp now under state investigation has stated it has severed ties with the camp.
The South Kent School, a boys’ prep school located off of Bulls Bridge Road, stated in an email to the Hearst Connecticut Media on Monday that it has “terminated all contractual agreements with Camp Shane,” the weight loss camp now under investigation by the state Office of Early Childhood and Department of Children and Families. The camp, which closed July 13, has “ceased all operations at our campus,” the school said in the email. ....

KENT An 8-year-old attending a weight-loss camp in Kent sustained serious head injuries just a day prior to the camp owner notifying parents they needed to shut down and that children should be picked up or sent home.
The camp, which officially closed Tuesday, is being investigated by the state’s Office of Early Childhood and Department of Children and Families, the departments said in a joint statement last week.
