With people coming into visit or drawing a little money for lunch or apply for a loan. Everybody was at the credit union. I got there as early as i could that morning and i had my vacation pictures from the week before. I was going to share those with these gals. We did not get started on this meeting until about 8 20. I would turn around and look at my computer screen at the next item we were to discuss. I leaned back in my chair and let them discuss who was going to copy this or get this ready so they could hurry with their audit. I turned around in my chair and kind of rared back to discuss the next item, when the bomb went off. It had to be longer but it was like seconds. All of the girls in the office with me had disappeared. I felt they had ran out and left me alone. I started hollering, where are you guys . Then a realization set in somewhat. I realized that i dont know where they are, they are gone. Eventually i found out that when the bomb went up and everything started coming ....

Whats being done to modernize the library of congress. We heard testimony from dr. Carla hayden, the librarian of congress. This is a little more than an hour. [inaudible] who also chairs the appropriated committee for library and i think thats particularly helpful that you could be here as well. Also a member of this committee so shes here as a of the committee but also on these topics, particularly fallible in her role as appropriate. We have been having with the library, with the smithsonian, with the architect of the capitol these kinds of oversight hearings to fulfill that responsibility and be sure were giving the agencies to help they need. We were both there for many years. They went into a downturn in the late 2000s. In the face of the internet and it started to evolved into a fulfilling job for me. I decided what i really loved to do was investigate complex cases and it was less market for that in the journalism world. The emphasis was on breaking news so i decided to try to see if i could do that work as a consultant. What kind of stories did you work on . I started out covering american politics here in washington in the late 1980s, early 90s and investigating politicians for possible corruption. Ethics in washington and over the years, got evolved into different types of investigating journalism involving financial crime, broad corporate cases, scandals, financial crisis and then over time, after 9 11, i started branching out into International Criminal matters such as terrorism and organized crime.
