that we don t have to hold our breath every time a vote comes to the floor. the way that we do that as we make the choice very clear to american voters. there is no greater example than this reconciliation bill today. we will bring down the cost of inflation, it will bring down the cost of prescription drugs, it will create good paying jobs in the clean energy sector. who supported unanimously? democrats. who opposed it? republicans. the reason why republicans have opposed so many of these things is not because they are radical ideas, these are hardly socialist things that the democrats are pushing. the republicans are opposing these bills because they want to impose as much economic misery on the american people as possible in a dark cynical ploy to get voters to turn against democrats in the midterms and vote for republicans. democrats need to be laying at that contrast and screaming
society moving towards people being entitled. i m more about rewarding people that can help themselves. people are pushing through the reconciliation bill today. joe manchin is still interesting in rescuing his hostage. so the effort to link them together needs to work. it is working well with progressives, it means testing and the community can college, pre-k, which elements, but he is, he talked about means testing or providing job requirements. and that will need to be fleshed out, and that is something he has been talking about for next year and that will not fly with the rest of the democratic
now, i don t think this is going to happen before tomorrow or by the time pelosi decides she wants to bring up a vote. and so it s very likely that she pulls it if the votes aren t there. let s do the math here. and let s talk reality, okay, ron? if biden can t get something like infrastructure done when democrats control the house, senate and white house, is anything ever going to get done, police reform, voting rights? why does it seem that democrats can t, you know, democrats always get in their own way. right. you re seeing here the kind of end result of trying to do big change on a slender majority. the reconciliation bill has been correctly compared to sort of the great society in a single bill. lyndon johnson had 68 democratic senators. there is no margin for error here. there is a difference between manchin and sinema. manchin put out a critical statement about the reconciliation bill today but
back to reconciliation. speaker pelosi and majority leader schumer announced agreement on the reconciliation bill today. what s different about this framework agreement and do you think it could get moderates like manchin and sinema onboard with the reconciliation package? everyone is working really hard to find the best way forward with the best package possible to help americans get back on their feet and back to work and have the support they need, child care. critical to so many families. making sure there s paid family leave when they are sick they stay home, so they don t continue toin effect other people. making sure that they have access to the job skills they need so that that infrastructure package when we get done has skilled workers to be able to make sure it actually happens. we re all focused on doing the best we can and everybody s working best foot forward to get this done. do you think, though, that
