the white house correspondent in 2009 and 2010. health care policy was complex and was not an easy road and it took a lot of democrats to get that bill through, and undoing health care reform, essentially you are coming up with a whole new plan, and when you control all the branches of tkpwut it doesn t mean you are going to sing from the same sheet of music. and he ran on repeal and replace, and also members of congress have, and this is their number one promise, and when they have not got that done, and there s no excuse anymore, and there s a republican in the white house and in congress, they will have to answer for that at the ballot box. they ran on it literally, and he ran on it spiritually. his base includes a whole bunch of reagan democrats who are on obamacare, and i disagree, and i
are the ones who get left behind. but senator, you guys were in power for the last eight years. why is it that it didn t work for those good americans that you were working americans who u were working for. the republicans had a blocking position. when they didn t have a blocking position, we got the affordable care act through, and when they didn t have acking position, we got through the wall street reforms. but once they had a blocking position in the senate and then in the house, we couldn t get the minimum wage increase. we couldn t get increases into social security. we couldn t get a more progressive tax bill. so, look. i don t want to try to shuffle off off the blame. i think there s plenty that we can, do we should have done, we must do in the future on our side of the aisle. but let s be very clear. the republicans have made their part of the agenda 100% obvious.

anchor greta, and former chairpers chairperson, i should say, of the democratic national committee, donna brazile, and nicole wallace, and savannah guthrie will be here in just a minute because she just left the today show. this will be the first test of donald trump s will to stand up in a legislative manner in his own party. we have never seen him take on his own party in a policy fight. i think we all know there has been plenty of reporting about his early conversations before he accused the former president of tapping his phones, and he was actually having substantive for him, conversations about how to tweak and maybe rebrand
first to file a lawsuit against the new ban. and then a day without a woman. the strike encourages women to skip work and abstain from shopping to show the economic power of women. in just 30 minutes we are expecting house speaker, paul ryan, to join gop leadership for a news conference over a republican revolt over the bill to replace and repeal obamacare. how real is this revolt from republicans? reporter: steph, real enough the main task well, there s here running on parallel tracks. they are making changes to the bill in markup sessions, and two, they are counting votes. we just spoke to one of the conservative members of the republican conference and he said at this point he s a no vote, and on the flip side you have moderate republicans saying
