Fumes forcing students out of a boston high school. Stiewjts are now back in class, students are now back in class but many were checked out by emergency crews. Good afternoon. Apparently the students had been working with hydrochloric acid in a classroom recently and there was some residual vapors. That made some of the students here sick. We had 17 students that were complaining of symptoms like headache, nausea. Reporter anxious moments at the boston arts academy. Hazmat teams rushed to the school after an acid spill made students sick. About 17 students said they were exposed. We had a couple of companies go n. Checked it out. It was some type of venting machine. Usually it does all vents but opened it up, there was some residue left. Reporter the deputy says none of the students appeared seriously ill. Technicians checked the atmosphere in the classroom and the school

A second person , rebecca smith, also died. Preliminary investigation indicates their truck ran a red light before side swiping an suv. I saw two cars fighting for the same lane. The truck hopped the curb. Then through this guardrail before dropping 15 feet into the river. It happened before 7 00 saturday night. I was doing a lot of yelling, trying to direct people. Some confusion. The state trooper jumped into the water as did a passerby. Divers pulled them out through the window of a door. Dive teams did a preliminary search of the whole area. We are not aware of anyone else in the water. Washer cascaded from the pickup as it was lifted. Witnesses were left feeling troubled. You didn t know what to do. That was the difficult part about it. Good morning again, danielle. Danielle good morning, frank temperatures have warmed up now into the 40s for the most part except for keene at 32 degrees but were in the mid to upper 40s now on the cape. Low 50s on nantucket. In the last 24 hours, temperatures have dropped about 1020 degrees cooler than this time yesterday. So that is the big story today. Its a cold start out there, and of course when we start out cold we dont warm up all that much more. Winds are out of the north and west. Youre going to feel them anywhere from 1015 miles an hour. Sustained. And that is where theyre going to stay through the afternoon. Its also creating a wind chill which makes it feel more like the mid 30s in worcester, like the lower 40s in boston and upper 30s in portsmouth. So over the next 12 hours, lots of sunshine.
