México had their chances but unfortunately couldn’t put it all together and wound up in a 0-0 draw with Slovakia. The good news for México is that the defense looked solid and was able to keep Slovakia from creating many good scoring chances. The bad news is that México had several chances to score but ultimately was unable to find the back of the net.
México got their first decent opportunity of the match in the third minute when Nicole Pérez whipped in a cross from the right side that Stephany Mayor headed wide. México was largely patient with the ball, looking to make a smart pass more often than trying to break things wide open. Slovakia was defensively solid but offensively turned the ball over often in the starting minutes of the match. Match Recap: Mexico 3-1 Costa Rica - Managing Madrid

The Mexican Women’s National Team hosted Costa Rica in the Estadio Azteca on Saturday. It was the first of two friendlies between the sides. Both teams have had extended periods without matches.
Mexico is playing for the first time since March 11, 2020 and this was Costa Rica’s first match since CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying. This was also Mexico’s first match under new coach Monica Vergara. Kenti Robles started the match at right back.
El Tri started the match on the front foot but the first big chance fell to Las Ticas. Priscila Chinchilla fired just wide within five minutes to conclude a Tica counter attack. But Mexico opened the scoring in the 22nd minute. Rebeca Bernal sprinted to the back post to head a flighted ball from a Nicole Perez corner kick past the keeper. ....
