Ndubuisi Kanu, as a rare breed for his singular consistency and unwavering commitment to social justice, democracy and federalism in Nigeria. Naija247news reports that Kanu, a former Military Governor of Imo (1975) and of Lagos State (1976) died on Wednesday morning in a Lagos hospital at the age of 77. He was also the Chairman of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO). Fayemi mourns former Lagos military governor, Ndubuisi Kanu

Daily Post Nigeria Published The Governor of Ekiti State, Dr. Kayode Fayemi, has expressed his condolences on the death of the former Military Governor of Lagos State and Chieftain of the National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), Rear Admiral Ndubuisi Kanu. The late Rear Admiral Kanu who also served as a military governor of Imo State passed on Wednesday, Aged 77. Dr. Fayemi in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Yinka Oyebode, described Admiral Kanu’s death as a monumental loss to Nigeria as a whole given the late activist’s commitment to the stability of the country. He credited the late Admiral Kanu with contributing to the physical, social and economic development of Lagos and the Imo States where he served as military governor and left worthy legacies that had endured decades after leaving office.
