More than 20 children from 11 different countries are now American citizens.
They took part in Tulsa s first Children s Naturalization Ceremony, which happened at Gathering Place Thursday. 
Under the shade of the Reading Tree at Tulsa s Gathering Place, dozens and dozens of people gathered to watch 25 kids from 11 countries become citizens.
There is a great track record of the children of immigrants doing remarkable things. You are sitting in the middle of one of them - this place - the greatest park gift to any city in American history was the vision of a child of immigrants, said Tulsa s Mayor GT Bynum.  ....

Today s Cool School is Raintree Elementary in Baldwin.
Raintree is creating a culture of readers. The more students read, the better their reading ability becomes. Students log every 15 minutes of reading with a goal of reading 45 minutes a day.

Students get a flower to place on their Reading Tree to celebrate moving up a reading level. They ring the bell when they reach those goals. Raintree Elementary s students and staff are working diligently to reach our school s vision of Growing our Future.

Campaign launched to find more Reading foster carers for teenagers

A CAMPAIGN is being launched to find more local foster carers, particularly for teenagers, so more young people in care can stay in Reading.
One year ago, Brighter Futures for Children (BFfC) planted a tree in Town Hall Square in partnership with Ethical Reading, Reading Borough Council and the Reading Tree Wardens.
The tree-planting, on February 17, 2020, was an idea from a 15-year-old boy, Nick , who suggested it be planted to help young people in care, like him, who have had to move away from Reading to feel ‘rooted’ in the town.
The cherry blossom tree stands tall outside Reading Town Hall and is now adorned with solar lights for some extra sparkle in the darker months. ....
