Paytm may partner with private and public sector banks like Axis Bank, HDFC Bank, State Bank of India and Yes Bank to continue its transactions through UPI.
Paytm app Latest News: While the Paytm Payments Bank cannot accept further credits into its customer accounts and wallets after March 15, 2024, RBI has issued additional steps which are necessary to ensure seamless digital payments by UPI customers using Paytm handle operated by the Paytm Payments Bank, and minimise concentration risk in the UPI system by having multiple payment app providers.
The Reserve Bank of India on Friday gave a 15-day relaxation to Paytm payments bank on accepting deposits. The last date will now be March 15 from the earlier date of February 29.
According to sources aware of the development, the company had applied for a name change around three months ago and got the approval from the Registrar of Companies on February 8.
SoftBank has been offloading Paytm shares regularly since at least November 2022, reducing its stake to around 5% as of January from around 18.5% during Paytm s IPO in 2021.
