Gov. Andrew Cuomo s father, Mario, when he was governor of New York state, kept a low profile. He lived in the Executive Mansion in Albany and often jogged in the adjacent Lincoln Park just a few blocks from the home that Theodore and Franklin D. Roosevelt both inhabited when they were the governors of New York. Mario Cuomo was an intellectual who spoke and wrote oratorically and brooded about judgments that reporters had made about his political decisions. He would occasionally call a reporter to polemically discuss their differences of opinion but would not threaten or bully them.
