Salinas City Council will vote on Tuesday regarding a resolution appointing Steven Carrigan as the new city manager, according to their meeting agenda.
The city has been looking for a new city manager since the retirement of Ray Corpuz Jr. at the end of September. Corpuz became city manager in December 2011 after having served as the city manager in Seaside.
Jim Pia has been serving as the interim city manager. According to a report from KSBW8, 78 people applied for the position of city manager. By November, the number was down to four.
Carrigan was previously the city manager for Merced, where the city council voted to terminate his employment by a number of 6-1 in July, according to the Merced County Times.
