Amid the leadership crisis in Osun State Polytechnic, Iree with two rectors claiming legal right to its leadership, the state House of Assembly has directed the two of them to appear before the House. An invite signed by the Director of Information and Public Relations for the House, 'Laide Lawal, asked the two rectors –Mr. Kehinde Adeyemi Alabi and Dr. Tajudeen Adewale Odetayo – to appear before the House on Tuesday, September 19, 2023.

Governor Adeleke Shuts Down Osun Polytechnic After Two Rectors Resumed Duty

The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on Thursday shut down the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree after two rectors, Dr Tajudeen Odetayo and Mr Kehinde Alabi resumed duty. Odetayo was suspended recently by the governor as the rector, but he returned to the campus on Thursday upon his reinstatement by the Industrial Court sitting in Lagos State. Adeleke suspended Odetayo on July 11, 2023 over allegation of fraud and appointed his kinsman, Alabi as the acting Rector but the the staff of the polytechnic faulted the governor’s decision.
