Now, gun buyers here already have to fill out a detailed form, go through a background check and waiting period. But having a videotape of the purchase sending it to local police is one regulation too many according to the owner. Department was unable to find the source of a strong odor that sickened a dozen people at the westin hotel. Hazmat crews were called to the hotel in El Camino Real just after 9 00 last night. People who complained about respiratory irritation were decontaminated and sent to nearby hospitals for treatment. Part of 1 the hotel was evacu for some time. We did evacuate the garage and the first floor. We told everyone in the second floor and above to stay in place. We turned off the air system so that any chemical wouldnt be circulating through the hotel. Investigators believe the odor originated in the underground garage but has since dissipated.
