Justice Sisi Khampepe, the chairperson of the inquiry into the Usindiso building fire, has handed over part one of the commission's report to Gauteng Premier Panyaza Lesufi.
The court case against the suspect who allegedly started the fire is delayed with a warning to the defence over dragging its heels. The commission, meanwhile, wraps up the first part of its investigation into the Usindiso fire, which killed 76 people last year.
It took less than 15 minutes for Johannesburg emergency management services (EMS) to respond and arrive at the Usindiso building where 77 people died when a fire broke out on August 31.
