Over $175,000 distributed to 28 groups through El Dorado Community Foundation grants

The El Dorado Community Foundation has announced the 2021 Endow El Dorado grant recipients. Due to the unique circumstances surrounding the pandemic, the decision was made to allocate some of the grant funding to pandemic response in addition to the usual categories Social Services, Community Mental health, & Youth. In total, a little over $175,000 is being distributed to 28 different organizations throughout El Dorado County.

A reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) has officially passed in the House of Representatives, and now heads to the Senate, where it’s poised to face staunch Republican opposition over the gun control measures it contains.
This legislation makes critical changes to VAWA, which was the first federal law to ever comprehensively confront violence against women including domestic abuse, sexual assault, and stalking by allocating grant money to combat and investigate these offenses. ....
