DS: What did Bangladesh learn from the collapse of the Rana Plaza building? Tuomo Poutiainen (TP): In response to major industrial incidents in Bangladesh s readymade garment (RMG) sector in 2012 and 2013, a National Tripartite Plan of Action on Fire Safety and Structural Integrity was developed in 2013. Bangladesh now knows what needs to be done to address dangerous workplace hazards.
