Congress MP Jairam Ramesh has accused the Modi government of widening the income gap between the ultra-rich and the middle class in India. He claims that an analysis of income tax returns from 2013-14 to 2021-22 shows increasing income inequalities. The income growth of the ultra-rich has consistently outpaced that of the middle class.
The Congress party has criticized the Indian government for its handling of inflation, stating that millions of families are facing hardships due to rising prices of essential commodities. This comes after the Reserve Bank of India decided to keep the policy rate unchanged for the fourth consecutive time. The Consumer Price Index has remained above the RBI s target of 4% for 47 months, with the August CPI standing at 6.83%.
The Congress party criticized the National Medical Commission (NMC) for its assessment of medical colleges, stating that many of them had ghost faculty and senior residents. The NMC replied to the Associations of Emergency Physicians of India (AEPI), acknowledging that none of the institutes met the requirement of 50% attendance and that there was a lack of doctors in the emergency medicine department.
