Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Sunday said the vested quarters who tried to foil Bangladesh s independence have now failed.
Those who tried to foil independence have now failed, she said.
The Prime Minister said this while virtually addressing a discussion marking the historic Homecoming Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman from her official residence Ganobhaban.
Awami League organised the discussion at its central office at 23 Bangabandhu Avenue.
On January 10, 1972, Bangabandhu had returned to the independent and sovereign Bangladesh after over nine and a half months of captivity in a Pakistan jail. He was subjected to inhuman torture in the jail where he had been counting moments for the execution of his death sentence that was pronounced in a farcical trial. ....

Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina yesterday said Bangabandhu s January 10, 1972 speech has all the guidelines required to run an independent state.
The January 10, 1972 speech of Bangabandhu at the Racecourse Maidan on his return to the country from Pakistani captivity has all the required guidelines to run an independent state. There was no written speech in his (Bangabandu s) hand. Whatever he said he uttered from his heart, she said.
She said this while presiding over a discussion meeting virtually from her official residence the Gono Bhaban marking the historic Homecoming Day of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. ....

DHAKA, Jan 10, 2021 (BSS) – Prime Minister and Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina today said Bangabandhu’s January 10, 1972 speech has all the guidelines required to run an independent state.
