Out of an abundance of caution amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, City of Midland Parks and Recreation has announced that the MidWinter Chill cardboard sled races scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 23 at Midland City Forest has been postponed at this time.
Staff will continue to monitor public health directives from the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, the Centers for Disease Control, and the Midland County Health Department and will attempt to reschedule the event for a date later this winter season if possible.
Residents are reminded that the City Forest Chalet will remain closed for winter recreation equipment rentals and concessions and the toboggan runs will not be open to the public; however, staff will groom the sledding hill, ski trails, and ice skating rink for patrons to use with their own equipment. Portable restroom facilities are available outside the Chalet for visitor use.
