Photo Exhibition: 'Passing for Protection'. Image by Southeast Asia Globe.In partnership with the Pulitzer Center, the Southeast Asia Globe will host a photojournalism exhibition called Passing for Protection. The exhibition will showcase photographs from Cambodia’s remote forests and the lives of those living in the Kingdom’s most controversial protected areas. Divided into five themes Landscapes, Threats, Protectors, Protected and On the Horizon Passing for Protection takes viewers into some of the most remote forests in the Kingdom. This in-depth photojournalism collection is part of the Globe’s environmental coverage, which is supported by both Pulitzer Center rainforest initiatives, the Rainforest Journalism Fund and the Rainforest Investigations Network. From Climate Reporting to Climate Engagement (#COP27). The panelists will highlight the importance of journalism, education, and cross-sectoral outreach efforts in tackling climate change, derived from the multiformat rainforest journalism by Pulitzer Center Fellows and grantees on rampant deforestation, the absence of Indigenous community safeguarding, as well as ground-level developments related to carbon trading. This session showcases the power of rainforest journalism to inspire engagement and action by educational communities and civil society groups to address the climate crisis in the global south, accelerating actions of the climate goals, as well as revealing social injustice in the process of climate change reduction.
