For the fourth day in a row, Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) continues to report heavy rains. Several low-lying areas reported waterlogging. In Thane s Kalwa, five members of a family, including three minors, were killed after a boulder rolled down and crashed into a slum colony due to incessant rains. The civic bodies have also asked people to boil water before drinking due to seepage caused by the heavy rains. More than 400 cars, auto-rickshaw, sports bikes also drowned in the BMC s underground parking lot in the Kandivali Thakur complex in Mumbai. Efforts are on to remove the water and vehicles. The IMD has issued a red alert in Mumbai as heavy rains lashed the city throughout Sunday. As many as 32 people lost their lives and six were injured in five separate rain-related incidents across the city. CM Uddhav Thackeray chaired a high-level meeting and asked civic officials as well as rescue agencies to be alert and rush to the spot in case any mishap is reported in the city. Mumbai rains LIVE: City to get moderate rain today; heavy spells expected at isolated places

Moderate to heavy rainfall accompanied by thundershowers in Mumbai and its suburbs with the possibility of very heavy rainfall at isolated places in the city is likely on Monday, as per the city s weather forecast.
The Indian Meteorological Department had already issued a red alert for Mumbai, starting from 8:30 am on July 18 till 8:30 am on July 19.
It has also warned of the possibility of occasional gusty winds, reaching 45-55 kmph to 65 kmph.
