A 78-year-old driver died at a hospital following a two-vehicle collision Monday afternoon in Northeast El Paso, police said Wednesday.
Juan Estrada was driving on Railroad Drive when he suddenly veered and struck a pickup in the next lane, a police news release stated.
The collision occurred about 1:30 p.m. and closed a portion of Railroad Drive for six hours.
Police said that Estrada was driving a 2000 Honda Passport in the right lane while Mario Escobedo, 69, was driving a 2008 Ford F-250 in the left lane. Both vehicles were southbound on Railroad Drive near Nations Tobin Park.
Estrada passed Escobedo and suddenly veered into the left lane hitting Escobedo s truck, a police news release stated.
