New research out of Italy shows that people with vitamin D deficiency had lower antibody levels after receiving their COVID-19 vaccine compared to people with normal levels of the nutrient. The researchers suggest that people who know they are vitamin D deficient might want to increase their levels before rolling up their sleeves to improve immune response. People without a vitamin D deficiency don’t need to worry about taking supplements ahead of a booster.
