Given my background, i cant think of anything more critical any topic more important than producing the best research to provide the best data that is needed to develop new treatments for our patients. My formative experience in this regard occurred when i took a year between my second and third years of medical school to participate in the hhmi Research Scholars program at nih, where i studied aids dementia.
