Today, we are discussing the book polio, an american story. You received questions that i posted. Im interested in this topic. I also teach a seminar on the 1950s and thats when so much of this book takes place. I think just looking at polio really reveals so many different issues that affected that decade. Before starting, i just want to mention one thing in light of what we were talking about in terms of Dust Bowl art. I was reading the new York Review of books. Theres a review of a novel that Woody Guthrie wrote called house of earth. Doesnt get a very good review. But he gets some attention. The introduction was by a historian named Douglas Brinkley and johnny depp. I think they are trying to sel
