sandusky founded for troubled kids. susan candiotti is live at courthouse in pennsylvania. as i understand it, there has been a last-minute filing of some information that is a bit of a bombshell with regards to what s happening in the courtroom. somewhat related but somewhat not related, right? that s right. it has to do with two other people who are charged in connection with the case against jerry sandusky. you remember the two former penn state officials are currently charged with perjury in connection with allegedly lying to the grand jury about what they did or didn t know about allegations involving jerry sandusky. that trial has not happened yesterday. but those two former officials are tim curley and gary schultz, a former vice president at penn state in charge of police investigations on campus. cnn obtained court documents filed late yesterday that indicate the possible existence of what you could call a secret file not previously known to anyone until now. now i
captions by vitac www.vitac.com good morning our starting point today, tropical storm beryl washing away holiday plans in northern florida and georgia. it made landfall overnight with drenching rains and driving winds. the hurricane force winds have died down a bit but the beryl will be a super soaker as they call it. rob marciano is tracking the storm at the severe weather center, good morning. not usual to have one but two tropical storms into the month of may, not even into the beginning of hurricane season yesterday. 70-mile-an-hour winds last night at one point, this close to being a hurricane. there s the radar picture showing you the center distinctly 50 miles to the west of jacksonville florida and all the rain and thunderstorms rotating off the ocean so this will be slow to weaken and it will weaken as far as the winds are concerned but the rainfall becomes the bigger player through time. they could use the rain but don t want it all at one point. this is c
16-year-olds on this show. good morning, welcome to early start on this monday. i m ashleigh banfield. happy to have you this morning. i m zoraida sambolin. let s get started. tropical storm beryl making landfall in northeastern florida near jacksonville beach. it s packing a wallop, 70-mile-per-hour winds, torrential rain, more than 24,000 people without power this morning in the area. take a look at the pictures on your screen. that shows you the wind. the wind warnings, storm warnings all up along the atlantic coast from florida to georgia to the carolinas, putting a severe dent in a lot of the memorial day festivities. rob marciano has been pretty much up all night in the severe weather center watching all of this. things getting better tleels for now? well, the wind has died down but the rain is still coming. this event is far from over. at one point winds at 70 miles an hour, almost a hurricane. and some could argue that it was a minimal category 1 hurricane whe
