On Saturday, Jan. 20, Blaine MacPherson, Chair of the PEI Harness Racing Industry Association, and David MacKenzie, General Manager of Red Shores, announced that the 2024 PEI harness racing season plans to offer more race dates to reflect an increasing horse population.
The PEI Harness Racing Industry Association (PEIHRIA) has announced two new Fall Series events, which will be held at Red Shores at Charlottetown Driving Park. Sponsored by the MacRae family, the events will be named in honour of the late Joe and Steven MacRae.
Blaine MacPherson, Chair of the PEI Harness Racing Industry Association, announced on Thursday, Oct. 5 that there will be increased purse levels for all stakes and overnight competitors racing on Prince Edward Island in 2024.
With the Maritimes under alert due to Hurricane Lee, Red Shores, Horse Racing New Brunswick and Harness Racing Cape Breton have cancelled cards of harness racing slated for Saturday, Sept. 16.
