The YWCA Northeast Kansas is trying to end racism. The group’s upcoming attempt to do so will come in the form of an email one email every weekday for 21 days. The YWCA Northeast Kansas’ 21-day Racial Equity and Social Justice Challenge starts on March 1 and ends March 29. People can sign up for the challenge and will receive an email with links to three or four articles, podcasts or interactive maps. “It takes 21 days to create a habit,” said Allison Marker, resource development director at the YWCA Northeast Kansas. Marker said the articles and podcasts can take about 10 minutes to one hour, depending on a person s level of investment. She said the program is designed to let people learn at their own pace. The 21-day challenge started in Cleveland and was expanded to other cities after seeing its success. Articles in the emails will be tailored to Kansas while also including materials from national publications. ....
