He was taken straight to hospital. Heys, 47, of Howard Street, Rishton, pleaded guilty to being drunk in charge of a vehicle. He was fined £100 with £85 costs and £34 victim surcharge.

Penrith man caught with illegal drugs – twice

Admissions: The defendant admitted having illegal drugs when he appeared before magistrates MAGISTRATES have fined a Penrith man for drug possession offences. Tyler Nunn, 23, of Carleton Road, Penrith, appeared at Carlisle Magistrates’ Court and pleaded guilty to possessing of a quantity of class C Pregabalin prescription tablets on January 27. Two days later, the court heard, he was caught with the Class B drug cannabis. Both offences were committed in Carlisle, the court was told. Rachel Dixon, prosecuting, said that Nunn was stopped and searched by officers as he left a coffee shop in Carlisle. When searched, he was found to be carrying 116 Pregabalin tablets.

However the threat by Michael Sirey Parker, 34, of Warwick Road, was said by his own defence solicitor to be laughable, as the gas cooker he threatened to blow up was in fact electric.
