Dhaka, May 27 : Sri Lanka fast bowler Shiran Fernando, who tested positive for Covid-19 ahead of first ODI against Bangladesh on Sunday, has returned negative result following third round of RT-PCR test he underwent on Wednesday.
Fernando had tested positive ahead of first ODI along with pace bowler Isuru Udana and coach Chaminda Vaas. While the latter two got negative results after second round of tests, Fernando still returned positive result. Fernando tested corona negative [in the last test], Bangladesh s team spokesperson Rabeed Imam was quoted as saying by Cricbuzz.

Bangladesh preliminary squad members to reach hotel today

Members of Bangladesh preliminary squad will reach at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the city today. Before entering the hotel, members of Bangladesh preliminary squad underwent Covid-19 test on Monday. If they become negative for coronavirus test they will enter the hotel.
Senior Media Manager of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) Rabeed Imam confirmed this matter to this Reporter over telephone on Monday.
Meanwhile, the touring Sri Lanka Cricket team are now at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel. Their quarantine period will come to an end on today. Sri Lanka Cricket team arrived in Dhaka on May16 to play a three-match ODI series against Bangladesh Cricket team.
