The bill, which is sponsored by both Republicans and Democrats in the state legislature, aims to make congressional redistricting nonpartisan. State liquor store moving from downtown | News, Sports, Jobs

LOCK HAVEN The state liquor store in downtown Lock Haven is moving.
The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board on Wednesday voted unanimously to move the Fine Wine and Good Spirits Store at 137 E. Main St. to Clinton Plaza, Clinton County Economic Partnership Executive Director Michael Flanagan confirmed.
Flanagan said he listened to the PLCB meeting via a telephone conference call and the vote to move the store was unanimous with all three board members chairman Tim Holden, Mike Negra and Mary Isenhour approving the action.
“The store will relocate to the former CVS storefront in Clinton Plaza, hopefully by the end of the year,” Flanagan said. He said there are contracts to be signed and renovations to be completed before the move. ....

Commissioner Harding decries House Bill 972 | News, Sports, Jobs

LOCK HAVEN Clinton County Commissioner Angela Harding didn’t mince her words, showing her extreme disapproval of House Bill 972.
The bill, which “seeks to ensure athletic fairness in Pennsylvania by allowing only biologically born females to compete in women’s sports,” was introduced in the House on Monday.
And State Rep. Stephanie Borowicz, R-Clinton/Centre counties, was one of the five major sponsors of the controversial bill.
Harding, speaking out against the bill at Thursday’s meeting of the Clinton County Commissioners, said “Biological sex and gender identity are two different things. Over the course of time, they have been used interchangeably as the same thing. While our bodies may say one thing, there are instances where our brains say something different. And that is OK.” ....
