Tk'emlups expects vaccine shipment to arrive next week

Casimir told KTW confirmation of dates and times for appointments is still to be determined.
At present, Indigenous seniors ages 65 years and older (born before 1956) are eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine and can book an appointment by calling 1-877-740-7747 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. any day of the week.
People must wear a mask and have their care card with them at their vaccine appointment.
Casimir, who was diagnosed with COVID-19 in early February, said the number of vaccine doses the band will be receiving is expected to be enough to cover their entire on and off reserve population over the age of 18, which is about 600 people. ....

Potential COVID-19 exposure in Tk'emlups administrative buildings

The employee had a meeting with another worker in the CLC building between 12:30 p.m. and 12:55 p.m. and was on the second floor of the school building, on the third floor of the administration building and in a common space, the band’s release detailed.
The employee had been working from home and was tested for COVID-19 two days later, on Dec. 6. The worker was confirmed positive on Dec. 7, but did not display symptoms while attending the band offices on Dec. 4.
According to the band, the employee followed all safety protocols used hand sanitizer, wore a mask and practised physical distancing and Interior Health and Qwemtsin Health determined no one within the building was at risk of exposure. ....
