Lucknow: An inquiry has been ordered after a 65-year-old Pakistani woman was found running the affairs of a village panchayat as its interim head in Etah district.
Investigations were afoot to find out how she got the Aadhaar, voter ID and other documents while staying on a long-term visa.
An FIR has also been lodged against her.

According to reports, Bano Begum, a resident of Karachi, Pakistan came to India 35 years ago at her relative’s home in Etah. Later, she got married to an Indian, Akhtar Ali.

According to reports, Bano Begum, a resident of Karachi, Pakistan came to India 35 years ago at her relative s home in Etah. Later, she got married to an Indian, Akhtar Ali.
Since then, she had been staying in Etah on a long-term visa, and had applied for Indian citizenship on several occasions.

A 65-year-old Pakistani woman, residing in Uttar Pradesh s Etah district for the past 35 years has landed in trouble after she took up the post of officiating village head and her credentials were disclosed.
Bano Begum came to India from Karachi, Pakistan, to be a part of the wedding of one of her relatives in the Etah district never to go back. She tied the knot with one Akhtar Ali and has been living here since then by getting her long-term visa extended time and again.

Local police and administration of a village in the Etah district of Uttar Pradesh recently discovered that a 65-year-old Pakistani woman at the helm of affairs of the village panchayat as its interim head,

Bano Begum, a Karachi resident, visited a relativeâs house in Etah 35 years ago. She has been staying in the district on a long-term visa and even married an Indian local named Akhtar Ali.
Begum applied for Indian citizenship on numerous occasions and now a probe has been ordered on how she secured the Aadhaar, Voter ID and other documents despite being on a long-term visa.
