Govt paralyses judiciary with paltry allocation Govt paralyses judiciary with paltry allocation Mohalenyane Phakela IN a shocking development that is set to further cripple the already hamstrung judiciary, the government has only allocated a measly M937 366 to be shared by all the country’s courts including the High Court and Court of Appeal. This according to the High Court and Court of Appeal Registrar, Advocate ‘Mathato Sekoai. Adv Sekoai this week told journalists in Maseru that the meagre amount is for the first quarter of the 2021/22 financial year from April to June 2021. To put the matter into perspective, the M937 366 budget for all the courts is much less than the M1, 3 million electricity debt owed by the Maseru Magistrates’ Court alone. ....
WAMPP’s culling and exchange programme helping the red meat Industry WAMPP’s culling and exchange programme helping the red meat Industry Staff Reporter THE government is implementing the Wool and Mohair Promotion Project (WAMPP) with financial support from International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), OPEC Fund for International Development (OFID) and the Lesotho National Wool and Mohair Growers Association (LNWMGA). The goal of the project is to boost economic and climate resilience of poor, smallholder wool and mohair producers to adverse effects of climate change in the mountain and foothill regions of Lesotho. The Project is coordinated by the Agriculture, Food Security and Marketing Ministry. It is jointly implemented by the Forestry, Rangelands and Soil Conservation ministry as well as the LNWMGA. ....

The countries which are implementing are South Africa, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Malawi and Lesotho. IOM Lesotho has been working closely with Ministry of Social Development (MoSD), DISCOSEC (District COVID-19 Secretariat) and District Disaster Management Team (DDMT) to identify vulnerable returnees and their family members, as well as other extreme vulnerable youth in Mohales Hoek, Quthing and Qacha’s Nek districts and provide skills training to restore their livelihood. ....
