Hands of the top quintile of households. he was dealt an inflation hand, which is very scary. they re doing the right thing. quelching demand, focusing on longer term sreinvestments and infrastructure. they are being grownup. they are doing what s required for america long term. and americans are facing a number of numbers and facts and arguments from both sides, and each side sort of cherry picking the arguments and the data they want to prove their point. i want to give you some of those data points and ask you whether any in particular stands out to you as most important. we have the stock market that just dropped to its lowest point in nearly two years. but then there is the unemployment rate which is still near historic lows at 3.7%. mortgage rates that rose to ....

That s what my campaign in 1992 was all about. that s why, you know, when i left office, we moved 100 times out of poverty into the middle class than my predecessors. because i understood that. it s the only time since the end of world war ii when, percentage wise, the incomes of the bottom 20%, rose slightly more than the top 20. not that i wanted to make them poor, but if you look at a graph of say their most successful president was reagan, because it was the first time we had ever been on a deficit fueled sugar high in peacetime. but in every quintile, except the top 5% really. they did better in the 1990s, the american people did, with more shared prosperity. i think that s a legitimate critique, but it doesn t really explain, um, the rise of the ....

Workers actually hourly earnings were down 1.7%. so as fast as companies start paying their workers more, inflation is eating up their gains. he is not going to want to face that. it s going to be much tougher when he is out there meeting people. he says he s going to start pressing the flesh. i don t think he is going to meet a very friendly crowd. i don t think so either. kyle, he has got the blame game. i don t think that is going to work. certainly to mary s point folks on the lower end are getting the biggest pay raises. sixteen 24 and the lowest quintile they are seeing pretty strong pay wages some months to keep up with inflation. not every month to pray to attack these corporations is wrong. what is left of this white house? that is the question. i agree i find it astounding ....

People really didn t have energy. we didn t have energy, but that s what was on our minds. coming into the session in january was right at the conclusion of that election cycle and then the attack on our capitol. so elections were on our mind. and so it s not unusual for us to take those things that are topical, that are hot at the moment, that people are focused on, and, okay, is there policy we need to review? the texas election bill became law in september when the governor called a second special session. election integrity is now law in the state of texas. there s no question that this bill will make it harder to vote in a state that is already among the hardest to vote in the country. and that s why we re always in the lowest quintile in voter participation. the texas legislature has repeatedly shown they care more about partisan advantage than they do about voting rights and they re willing to do whatever they can to stay in power. ....
