BURNABY, British Columbia, April 20, 2021 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) NEC Australia and Quantum Computing firm D-Wave Systems Inc. (D-Wave) are proud to have been selected by the Australian Department of Defence to demonstrate the use of hybrid quantum computing technology to solve a last mile resupply problem. The technology optimises how autonomous vehicles are used to resupply army forces from a central base. NEC Australia and D-Wave were selected via a competitive proposal process.
NEC and D-Wave entered into an agreement in November 2019 to accelerate the use of quantum computing by working with customers to develop applications. This is NEC s first quantum computing application use-case developed outside Japan. ....

Mainstream Renewable Energy’s former chief executive, Andy Kinsella, who quit last year before the company’s €1 billion sale, has joined forces with a Texas investment company to set up a new European wind and solar energy venture.
The new business, Aer Soléir, will be headquartered in Dublin and focus on “developing, constructing, owning, and operating a multi-gigawatt (GW) portfolio of onshore wind, solar and energy storage projects throughout Europe, ” according to 547 Energy, the US company partnering with Mr Kinsella. ....
