Wooster's newest nightlife addition: ax throwing

WOOSTER Missy Schen approached the fenced-in lane of Bullseye s Axe Throwing in Wooster.
Standing at the taped lines on the floor with an ax in hand, she looked at the target ahead of her. The splintered bullseye painted on slabs of lumber stared back.
In one swift motion, she took a step forward, swinging the ax above her head before letting loose at the target. The hatchet-sized ax flipped head over handle landing square on the bullseye.
Those six points won her the round and tied her for first overall. The game was far from over though. Her three friends could still steal the win with some well-placed axes. ....

Wooster area's Quailcrest Farm readies for final Spring Garden Fair

WAYNE TWP. The Bruch family is retiring from the plant business at Quailcrest Farm but not before hosting one more Spring Garden Fair.
Yes, the greenhouse and Garden Barn will close June 26, and this weekend s fair will be the last one. However, the gardens on the property will be maintained, and for those thinking about hosting a wedding, the Tracy Barn will continue to be available.
“We’re breaking lots of hearts. We just know it’s time for us to retire and enjoy our own gardens,” said Ginna Phillips, one of the four Bruch siblings who continued the business founded by their mother Libby Bruch in 1975. ....

Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce to host home and garden show

Chamber event will take place April 24 and 25
The Wooster Area Chamber of Commerce will host the 30th annual home and garden show on April 24 and 25 at the Wayne County Fairgrounds. The show will open on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission and parking for the event are free.
Some vendors also will find new accommodations as the spring show takes advantage of the fairgrounds’ newest facilities, the event center and the agriculture building. The move will shift the focus of the event from the grandstand area to the south side of the fairgrounds. ....
