Cleveland Browns wide receiver Amari Cooper will miss Thursday night's game against the New York Jets after injuring a heel during a record-setting performance last week. The Browns (10-5) can clinch a playoff berth with a win, but they'll have to do it without Cooper, who set the team mark with 265 yards receiving against the Houston Texans on Sunday. Cooper came in listed as questionable and was expected to play.
Raiders running back Josh Jacobs will be a game-day decision when Las Vegas visits the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. Jacobs has missed the past two games with a quadriceps injury. Jacobs has rushed for 805 yards, with 3.5 yards per carry, and six touchdowns this season.
The New York Jets signed kicker Austin Seibert to the practice squad Wednesday as insurance for Greg Zuerlein, who's questionable to play at Cleveland on Thursday night because of an injured right quadriceps. Zuerlein kicked a 54-yard field goal with 5 seconds left Sunday to lift the Jets over the Washington Commanders 30-28.
The Arizona Cardinals released veteran tight end Zach Ertz on Thursday, clearing the way for the rapidly-improving Trey McBride to assume the starting role. The 33-year-old Ertz is a three-time Pro Bowl selection who has spent the past five games on injured reserve with a quadriceps injury. The Cardinals have a 2-10 record.
