Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday arrived at the Air Force Station, Palam, Delhi after participating in the Quad Leaders` Summit as part of his two-day tour in Japan. The Summit in Tokyo is the fourth interaction of Quad Leaders since their first virtual meeting in March 2021, in-person Summit in Washington D.C. in September 2021 and virtual meeting in March 2022.
PM Narendra Modi, US President Biden, Japanese PM Fumio Kishida and Australia's newly-elected PM Anthony Albanese attended the second in-person meeting of Quad leaders here during which they exchanged views about developments in the Indo-Pacific region and global issues of mutual interest.
During the Quad Leaders' Summit in Tokyo, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that the mutual trust and determination among the Quad member countries are encouraging a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific region.
In his departure statement ahead of his visit to Japan from May 23-24, PM Narendra Modi said during his visit he will also hold a bilateral meeting with US President Joe Biden, where they will discuss further consolidation of the multi-faceted bilateral relations.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be leaving for his three-day visit to the US on Wednesday to participate in Quad Leaders' Summit, address the high-level meeting of the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
