Subscriber only A man is recovering in Gladstone Hospital after reportedly suffering an electric shock while at work on Friday night. Queensland Ambulance Service said paramedics were called to a workplace off Handley Drive, Boyne Island, at 9.38pm after reports a man in his 40s had suffered an electric shock. Paramedics treated the man at the scene before he was taken to Gladstone Hospital in a stable condition. A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman could not confirm the identity of the workplace off Handley Drive, Boyne Island. The Gladstone Observer has contacted Boyne Smelters Limited for a statement to determine if the incident occurred there.

Subscriber only A boy has been taken to Gladstone Hospital in a serious condition with head and arm injuries after an incident with a vehicle on Saturday afternoon. A Queensland Police spokeswoman said Gladstone police attended a private property off Alf O Rourke Drive at Gladstone around 3.45pm after reports a child had been hit by a car. The spokeswoman declined to elaborate on if the incident would be investigated. A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said Gladstone paramedics responded to the scene at 3.46pm. Paramedics were called to a vehicle and pedestrian incident, the spokeswoman said. A male child was transported to Gladstone Hospital in a serious but stable condition with head and arm injuries.

2.55pm: A person has been taken to Gladstone Hospital following a two car crash at South Gladstone on Tuesday morning.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics treated two patients at the scene, after two cars collided blocking Lyons Street about 11.40am.
“Paramedics transported one patient who was stable to Gladstone Hospital for precautionary measures,” the spokeswoman said.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said Gladstone police arrived at the scene just after paramedics.
The spokesman said when police arrived council workers were at the scene directing traffic around Lyons Street.
“Police reported no persons were trapped and two patients were suffering minor injuries,” the spokesman said.

UPDATE 10.36AM: A man was taken to hospital after a steel gate cut his arm at Diglum on Friday morning. Paramedics were called to Gladstone-Monto Rd at 9.28am. A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said a man reportedly in his 80s was taken to Gladstone Hospital with an injury to his arm.
INITIAL 9.48AM: Paramedics are on their way to Calliope after reports a steel gate has cut a man s arm on Friday morning. A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said crews were called to Gladstone-Monto Rd at 9.28am. It is believed the patient is a man in his 80s.

A teenage girl reportedly suffered a head injury after allegedly being assaulted on Friday.
It is understood that after Friday’s incident, a teenage school student went home suffering a possible head injury.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesman said paramedics attended an address at Toolooa at 12.38pm and examined a female in her mid-teens.
The spokesman said paramedics examined the girl’s face and head for injuries but she did not require transport to hospital.
A Queensland Education Department spokesman said they had no assault on record at any Gladstone region high schools on Friday. alleged assault
