Although the Covid-19 pandemic has put a dampener on its centenary celebrations, Australia’s flag carrier is still finding ways to commemorate the milestone. Qantas has teamed up with Four Pillars Gin — a craft distillery based in the Yarra Valley northeast of Melbourne — to release a uniquely Australian gin to mark the 100th anniversary of its founding in the outback town of Longreach.
The limited-edition QF100 gin features botanicals sourced from the central western Queensland region where Qantas was born a century ago. To create a gin that captured the spirit of the national airline, Four Pillars co-founder and distiller Cameron Mackenzie traveled to the outback community to forage for botanicals native to the area, under the guidance of local indigenous ....
